The Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith Fund commemorates the achievements of two distinguished South Australian pioneer aviators - Captain Sir Ross Smith K.B.E., M.C., D.F.C., A.F.C., and his brother Lieutenant Sir Keith Smith K.B.E.
The scholarship was established to support students undertaking an Honours research project relevant to aeronautical or aerospace engineering in the College of Engineering and Information Technology.
Value: $3,500 to be paid in two instalments.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the grant, applicants must:
- Be undertaking the Honours component of the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)(Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mechanical), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mechanical) with Bachelor of Mathematical & Computer Science, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical) with Bachelor of Science, or the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mechanical) with Bachelor of Finance and Banking program
- Be undertaking an Honours project relevant to aeronautical or aerospace engineering
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
- Be enrolled on a full-time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Relevance of the Honours project to aeronautical or aerospace engineering
- Answers to questions on the application form

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
