The Sia Furler Institute Scholarship was established through a of donation from Professor Jennie Shaw. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students in financial need to support education and living costs for one year of the Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Media, Bachelor of Media and Communication, Bachelor of Digital Media, or Diploma of Music programs.
Value: $2,500 to be paid in two instalments.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Media, Bachelor of Media and Communication, Bachelor of Digital Media or Diploma of Music
- Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand Citizen
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
- Produce a short (1 minute) video clip which: outlines why you seek to complete the Music or Media program; outlines how you feel the program will benefit you in your professional endeavours; defines the special qualities you feel you would bring to the program. Upload the video to youtube and provide a link to the video clip in your online application form
*Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
*Evidence of Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) application or approval does not demonstrate financial need.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Quality and content of the video
- Academic merit (GPA or ATAR)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
