The Frances Adamson Scholarship has been established by a donation to the University of Adelaide from the Adelaide University Sports and Fitness Association and a matching donation from Mr Warren Hicks. The Scholarship is in honour of Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia. Her Excellency graduated from the University of Adelaide with a degree in Economics in 1985. While studying, Her Excellency was inaugural female captain of the Adelaide University Boat Club, during the 1984/85 seasons. The scholarship supports members of the Adelaide University Boat Club undertaking an undergraduate, honours or postgraduate coursework program of study.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking an undergraduate, honours or postgraduate coursework program of study
- Be identified as a member of the Adelaide University Sports and Fitness Association and competing in the women's category
- Be an active financial member of the Adelaide University Boat Club
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
- Be enrolled on a full time or part time basis
Selection criteria
- Demonstrated details of sporting prowess and
- Contributions to the Adelaide University Boat Club
- Answers to questions on the application form

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
