In 1979, Everard Terence Hearn bequeathed $25,000 to the University of Adelaide to support scholarships for students undertaking the medical program.

Value: $5,000 per year to be paid in two equal instalments
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be commencing the Bachelor Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine
- Be transferring from a college other than the College of Health within Adelaide University
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
*Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form
