The Edward Rychter Scholarship in English was established in 2013 by Mrs G.M. Rychter. The scholarship honours the memory of her husband, Edward Rychter and his lifelong appreciation of language and literature.
The scholarship supports financially deserving students, enabling them to continue their studies in English.

Value: $3,000 to be paid in two equal instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Arts program majoring in English
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form

- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
