Dr. Farquharson (B.Pharm., MBBS, M.App.Sci., FACSEP) has enjoyed a rewarding medical career, which began with his medical degree at the University of Adelaide. Beyond his academic achievements, his involvement in teaching and mentoring medical students sparked an interest in supporting students who may be financially disadvantaged to achieve the same benefits from a medical career.
Dr Terry Farquharson Medical Scholarship supports continuing students undertaking the Bachelor of Medical studies at Adelaide University.

Value: $5,000 to be paid in two instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking second or third year of the Bachelor of Medical Studies
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship
