The Doris West Postgraduate Scholarship for Women was established in 1990 at the University of Adelaide by a gift from Doris West (B.A. 1921). Doris was particularly concerned and involved with the interests of women graduates both nationally and internationally. The scholarship supports female students undertaking a Masters by Coursework program of study at Adelaide University.

Value: $15,000 per year to be paid in two equal instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be commencing a Masters by Coursework program
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
- Be enrolled on a full time basis
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
- Be and/or identify as female
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship
