The Alastair Hunter Scholarship in Music Theatre was established at the University of Adelaide in 2025 by Mr Alastair Hunter OAM. Alastair fondly remembers attending musicals with his grandmother, Florence Muriel Perry, who was an Elder Conservatorium Scholar.

Value: $10,000 per year to be paid in two instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be commencing the Bachelor of Music Theatre
- Be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident of Australia
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in considerable financial disadvantage*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA or ATAR)
- Financial disadvantage
- Exceptional talent in Music Theatre
- Answers to questions on the application form
