A grant dedicated to students studying online and who have demonstrated financial barriers to accessing post-secondary study and/or reside in a rural, regional, or remote community. Recipients will receive a one-off payment of $1,500.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- A commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student (Online ONLY)
- Be enrolled in an AU Online undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program with a minimum duration of two years, and enrolled in at least two courses (or one course part-time) in their first study period
- An Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen
- Provide evidence of financial disadvantage and/or reside in a regional, rural or remote community
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidates will be made according to:
- Part-time or full-time enrolment in an AU Online undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program
- Financial need will be determined based on submission of supporting documentation, such as Centrelink benefits and other relevant financial documentation
- Regional, Rural or Remote assessment will be determined according to the home postcode listed in the supporting documentation which must be outside Major Cities in Australia.
Important information
- Regional, Rural, or Remote eligibility will be based on the home postcode provided in your supporting documents. The postcode must be outside Major Cities in Australia, as classified by the ASGC Remoteness Area using the Health Workforce Locator.
- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The grant must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
