The DesignInc Interior Architecture Grant will be awarded to full-time or part-time Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Honours) third-year students who have completed 96 units of study. The grant will be offered to students at the start of third year.
A paid work placement at DesignInc is a requirement of the grant and recipients may wish to integrate placement hours towards the completion of the 4th year course ARCH 4000 Interior Architecture Professional Experience (Advanced). The placement will take place in final year (exact timing and duration to be mutually agreed between DesignInc and the recipient considering the study, work and family commitments of the student, and the firm’s ability to host the placement).
Value:
$5,000 per recipient
Two equal instalments of:
– $2,500.00 after Semester 1 census date
– $2,500.00 after Semester 2 census date
Payment of second installment is subject to recipient:
– Enrolment
– Satisfactory academic progress
– Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 5.0 or above.

Eligibility criteria
Eligibility and selection criteria:To be eligible for the grant, applicants must:
– Be an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, Holders of permanent humanitarian visa or New Zealand Citizen.
– Have completed 96 units and be enrolled in the third year of Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Honours) (HINAR) on a full- time or part-time basis
– have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 or above
– Indicate willingness to undertake a paid work placement at a mutually agreed time and duration
– Not be in current receipt of a scholarship or grant sponsored by another architecture company
– Submit a written statement.
– Provide a Curriculum Vitae and a portfolio of design work.
– Attend an interview.
Candidate selection
Applicants must provide a written statement (500-750 words) detailing:
– Reasons for studying interior architecture
– Future career goals within the interior architecture industry and how the grant and work opportunity will help achieve these goals
– Academic standing and achievements
– Work experience, community involvement and/or extracurricular activities/interests
– Agreement to undertake a paid work placement at DesignInc at a mutually agreed time and duration and what they will hope to gain from the placement
– The name of any scholarships or grants currently held (or where an application is pending)
If, in the view of the selection panel, no applicant is sufficiently meritorious, no award shall be made.
Important information
Students may hold other scholarships or grants administered by Adelaide University; however, the recipient should not be in current receipt of a scholarship or grant sponsored by another architecture company.Contact us
