The Codan Undergraduate STEM Scholarship for Women will be available to second-year female students enrolled full-time or part-time in an eligible College of Engineering and Information Technology undergraduate program at Adelaide University.
The scholarship recognises and encourages talented female students who wish to
pursue engineering or information technology as a career.
The scholarship is valued at up to $15,000 payable over three years and includes the opportunity for recipients to undertake paid work experience at Codan at a mutually agreed time and duration. The industry experience will typically take place during the summer teaching break for 6-12 weeks.
The work experience component of the scholarship is designed to complement the financial assistance available and extend the scholarships value by providing practical work-based experience and mentoring, and potentially a pathway to employment.
Value: $5,000 per year up to 3 years (for full time students) plus a 6–12-week paid placement with Codan. Pro-rata payments will apply for part-time students.

The eligible programs are:
- Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical and Mechatronic)
- Bachelor of Cyber Security
- Bachelor of Information Technology majoring in Networking and Cyber Security
Eligibility and selection criteria:
To be eligible for the scholarship‚ applicants must:
- be an Australian citizen‚ Permanent Resident of Australia‚ Holders of Permanent Humanitarian Visa, or New Zealand Citizen
- Students from a refugee or humanitarian background
- be female
- be a continuing second-year student studying in an eligible Adelaide University College of Engineering and Information Technology program
- have full-time (preferred) or part time enrolment
- demonstrate academic achievement (a cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.0 or above)
- a resident of South Australia (if an Adelaide University Online student)
- agree to undertake a work placement at Codan
Candidate selection
Applicants are required to provide the following:
- written statement (maximum 750 words) detailing:
- reasons for studying their College of Engineering and Information Technology degree
- future career goals within engineering or information technology
- their knowledge of Codan and the industry sector in which the company operates
- interest in attending a paid work placement at Codan and what they would like to achieve during placement
- academic standing and achievements
- any previous and current work experience
- community involvement and/or extracurricular activities/interests
- Provide a Curriculum Vitae
- Attend an interview
