In 2024, Edna Phyllis Chatfield bequeathed an amount to the University of Adelaide for the purpose of establishing scholarships to support students undertaking studies in piano at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. Ms Chatfield enjoyed learning and playing the piano and attended many concerts at the Elder Conservatorium of Music during her lifetime.
The Chatfield Memorial Scholarship for Piano supports students undertaking a Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Music (Honours) program of study, who are also specialising in piano at Adelaide University.

Value: $5,000 per year to be paid in two instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship applicants must:
- Be commencing a Bachelor of Music majoring in Classical Performance, Bachelor of Music majoring in Jazz Performance, Bachelor of Music (Honours) majoring in Classical Performance or Bachelor of Music (Honours) majoring in Jazz Performance program and specialising in piano
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa undertaking study as a Commonwealth supported student or an International student.
- Must be studying on a full time basis
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic Merit
- Any auditions, performances or interviews relevant to the School of Performing Arts and Elder Conservatorium of Music.

- There is no application process for this scholarship, it will be directly awarded
- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible for this scholarship
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may be eligible for this Scholarship
