The Alastair McEwin Scholarship has been established by Mr Alastair McEwin, alumnus of the University of Adelaide and (in 2018) Australian Disability Discrimination Commissioner to support students who aspire to become leaders in their field, and who also have a disability, as defined under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the grant, applicants must:
- Be undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program
- Be registered with Adelaide University Access and Inclusion
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa Be enrolled on a full time or part time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA or ATAR)
- Demonstrated community engagement/leadership potential and personal/professional aspirations
- Answers to questions on the application form

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- By submitting an application for the Alastair McEwin Scholarship you consent for your details to be provided to members of the Alastair McEwin Scholarship selection panel. Shortlisted applicants may be invited by the selection panel to attend an interview.
