Applications for 2026 will be via SATAC for most undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs. A direct application process will be available for 100% online degrees at a later date. In the meantime, you could start your degree at UniSA or the University of Adelaide and continue at Adelaide University.

Our Master of Professional Engineering (Electrical) is designed to challenge and extend, assisting you to take your electrical engineering career to the next level.
With our elective-driven degree structure, you can tailor your studies to your specific electrical engineering interests and career goals. Core courses in engineering management and data analytics will formalise and deepen your project management expertise.
A deeply practical degree, you’ll put your learning into practice through capstone design-and-build projects, a major research project and up to 450 hours of industry placement.

What you'll learn
This degree offers both a foundation and extension year. Depending on your professional experience and educational qualifications, you may be eligible to receive credit for your first year and progress straight into second year of the degree.
The first year of this degree covers essential electrical engineering knowledge, with courses available in:
- Advanced control
- Electricity market and power system operations
- Power quality monitoring
- Power systems fundamentals
- Renewable energy systems.
You’ll also study courses in engineering data analytics and engineering management.
Professional industry placement is available in the first year of this degree. You’ll complete up to 450 hours of placement in a relevant industry setting.
In second year, you’ll take advanced courses in:
- Advanced electrical machines
- Advanced power system modelling and analysis
- Operation and control of modern power systems
- Renewable and distributed power generation.
You will also complete one elective course. An elective is available in grid-integration of renewable energy sources. Alternatively, an elective can also be taken from the list of first year courses.
In your final year, you’ll also complete both a major research project and capstone engineering design project.
