Scholarships available to domestic students
All domestic students accepted into the Master of Philosophy program at Adelaide University will receive a tuition-free place for up to two years for a Master program (or part-time equivalent) – effectively exempting domestic students from paying tuition during this period. Domestic students are also eligible to apply for Adelaide University Research Scholarships.
Scholarships available to international students
International students are eligible to apply for Adelaide University Research Scholarships. International students who are successful in being awarded a living allowance scholarship will also receive a tuition fee waiver.

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, you’ll be able to:
- Demonstrate a capacity to undertake independent research.
- Exhibit a deep understanding of current research-based knowledge in a specialised field, including a broad understanding of international perspectives.
- Apply analytical, critical and creative thinking to investigate, evaluate, critique and appraise research outputs including prior work in a specialised field.
- Undertake research using established methodologies appropriate to the specialised field to investigate significant open research questions.
- Apply logical, critical and creative thinking to solve complex problems.

Completion requirements
To be awarded the degree of Master of Philosophy, you must complete:
- A program of transferable skills development
- Probation and progress milestones
- A substantial thesis or creative work and exegesis
- An oral examination of the thesis or creative work.
