program overview

Overview

Enhance your career prospects and qualify for advanced roles, leadership positions, or further study with our Master of International Business.

Discover core business concepts such as marketing, accounting, management and entrepreneurship. Explore advanced topics like international business strategy, managing multinational corporations, cross-cultural management and negotiation, and global business analysis. Get real-world experience through an internship with an international business, NGO or government entity, along with industry and research projects.

Your master’s degree in international business will allow you to lead and manage global companies. You’ll be able to give expert advice to help companies reach international markets, target diverse customers and achieve their goals. You might find yourself working in multinational firms, government organisations or even starting your own global business – to name a few.

What you'll learn

Our Master of International Business will prepare you to work in global business settings. Your studies will cover business fundamentals along with advanced principles in international business.

In your first year, build foundational knowledge across key business disciplines – including marketing, management, accounting for decision makers and entrepreneurship. You’ll then move on to advanced topics specific to international business. Explore opportunities, risks and challenges in the global business environment. Learn about multinational corporations – how to manage international marketing, expatriate management, global procurement, mergers and acquisitions, and global concerns. You’ll also get to choose two elective courses from a wide range of topics.

In your second year, go deeper into international business and get real-world experience. Learn how to analyse global business opportunities, manage international markets and talent, and evaluate issues like sustainability and governance. Understand global market and supply challenges and the strategies companies use to gain a competitive advantage. Develop cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills and international entrepreneurship and innovation processes, ready to tackle global markets. Opportunities for hands-on experience will include an internship with a global business, NGO, or government entity, along with a choice between an industry-based research project.

Design a study path that works for you

This degree is part of a stackable set of qualifications, meaning your study choices are flexible. If your goals shift, you can exit after six months of study with a standalone Graduate Certificate or after one year with a Graduate Diploma qualification.

You can also begin your studies with a shorter qualification like the six-month Graduate Certificate and continue on to complete the Graduate Diploma (one year) or full master’s degree.
