program overview

Overview

Become an industry-ready performer with a Bachelor of Music Theatre. Develop your skills in singing, dancing, acting and music. Receive individualised training, with countless opportunities to perform and hone your craft across all areas of music theatre.

Unlock exciting opportunities, where you’ll audition and be casted for music theatre performances. Take part in a major musical to a public audience and an industry showcase targeting agents, producers and directors. Learn professional etiquette and personal marketing. Graduate with everything you’ll need to launch yourself into the music theatre industry.

What you'll learn

Your degree will cover courses in music theatre performance, musicianship and production. Benefit from invaluable opportunities, including participating in a graduation musical, an industry showcase, and developing your music theatre portfolio.

In your music theatre courses you’ll polish your technical skills. Receive advanced training in ballet, jazz, tap, voice and acting. Perform regularly and showcase what you’ve learned.

In your musicianship courses advance your skills in music theory and composition. Understand how music works within music theatre, along with its rich history and cultural relevance.

In music theatre production courses, study key elements like direction, design, costume and props, singing, and dance technical rehearsal. There will be opportunities to test your knowledge, creating fully staged plays and musicals.

In your final year, bring your original ideas to life in a cabaret or theatre performance and oversee the technical management of the performance season. Other final year courses include a graduation musical; an industry showcase targeting agents, producers and directors; and creating a performance portfolio for industry work.

You’ll be set to embark on your dream career – whether that be as a music theatre performer, production assistant or writer.
