If you’re naturally inclined to delegate, love problem-solving and enjoy a challenge, then our Bachelor of Aviation majoring in Management could be the path for you!

Graduate with flying experience and the interpersonal expertise to flourish in a range of diverse sectors.

program overview

Overview

Adelaide University’s Bachelor of Aviation majoring in Management is designed to propel your leadership skills to new heights.

Learn how to seamlessly coordinate complex aviation operations – ensuring flights are efficient, timely, appealing and most importantly, safe.

You’ll develop the decision making and critical thinking skills required for airline management. You’ll understand the full scope of aviation, focusing on law, finance and marketing, while also getting a taste of flying.

You’ll graduate with aviation knowledge and sound organisational and business acumen to deliver appropriate management strategies, making you agile and highly employable in the global market.

What you'll learn

The Bachelor of Aviation majoring in Management is ideal for those looking to secure senior leadership positions in the complex flight industries.

You’ll engage in intense study, combining theoretical practice, flight training, both physical and simulated, with deep knowledge in regulatory approvals, financial management concepts, professional communication and safety protocols.

In your first year, which is shared with the Bachelor of Aviation majoring in Pilot, you’ll be given an introduction into flight operations. You’ll learn about aviation law and its applications in Australia and abroad. You’ll also take courses covering human physiology/psychology and the aviation environment.

You’ll study tailored subjects in areas such as:

  • Aviation Management
  • Aviation Law
  • Human Performance in Aviation
  • Aviation Safety
  • Organisational Management
  • Airline Finance
  • Economics
  • Project Management
  • Strategic Management.

You’ll expand your aviation knowledge further through specialty electives including aviation physics, flight theory and airspace management. Or, if you prefer to broaden your business expertise, you’ll have the choice to select from cross-disciplinary electives including global tourism, supply chain management and organisational leadership.

Your third year will see you taking part in a real-world aviation-related problem, where you’ll work with others, applying theoretical and technical skills to present a logical solution and accompanying report.

This degree will also allow you to enhance your employability outcomes through study in communications and research methods.
