Course overview
This course aims to develop students’ capacity for sustained, independent studio practice through experimentation, iterative-making, and practice-led research. The course supports students to generate and test ideas through material, performative, spatial, and digital processes, and to develop critical awareness through documentation, reflection, and dialogue. Emphasis is placed on exploration, risk-taking, and the expansion of conceptual and material possibilities within a shared studio environment.
Course learning outcomes
- Create artworks with a range of cultural references.
- Create artworks which have been informed by both Modernist and Postmodernist practice.
- Undertake detailed research and analysis with a view to producing personally meaningful artworks.
