Course overview

This course will introduce techniques and processes that use moulding techniques and casting materials to explore the conceptual potential of reproduction to create single objects or an object made up of multiple units. Students will develop knowledge of working with moulding and casting techniques applied to the design and manufacture of wearable and/or sculptural objects. Students will apply model making and carving skills to moulding and casting processes in conjunction with cast material and found objects to create one-off and limited edition works that explore key ideas in the use of multiples in contemporary jewellery and sculpture.
