Course overview

This course will introduce several fine art studio workshops, with a focus on disciplines that are traditionally two-dimensional in format. Alongside reviews of historical and contemporary practice, students will learn about fundamental techniques, materials, and technologies (both digital and analogue) used in disciplines including Painting, Photography and Printmaking. Students will be encouraged to experiment with the use of materials and processes in the development and creation of original artworks. By the end of the course, students will have gained practical experience applying the processes, materials, and concepts employed in these fields. The skills and approaches introduced here will provide foundational knowledge for more advanced courses.
