Course overview

The aims of this course are to provide students with an overall understanding of the principles and concepts involved in complex biological systems and to develop the core knowledge essential for undertaking advanced studies in Veterinary Technology.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate and apply basic knowledge and understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, biology and cellular biology in the context of animal health.
  • Describe the processes of scientific methodology and collaborative work.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem solving ability.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in common chemistry and biological laboratory techniques.
  • Communicate biological and chemical concepts and experimental results in written and oral forms in a professional manner.
