Course overview

This course will develop skills and knowledge of the assessment and management of feeding and swallowing disorders. This course addresses assessment and intervention for feeding and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. The relationship of swallowing disorders with other communication disorders is explored.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to feeding and swallowing.
  • Formulate client centred, evidence based assessment and management plans for clients with feeding and swallowing disorders.
  • Differentiate the role of inter professional team members in managing clients with feeding and swallowing disorders.
