Course overview

This course provides the opportunity for students to gain practical experience in a relevant industry environment and to begin to apply some of the theory and skills developed in courses during their program of study. 

Course learning outcomes

  • Link academic research techniques, practices and discipline to the practical needs of industry
  • Formulate, implement and explain objectives for a field placement which directly links academic learning with industry needs
  • Develop personal and career goals and identify steps to realise these goals
  • Develop skills and competencies which will assist in securing suitable field placements
  • Reflect and derive learning outcomes both from a personal and organisational perspective
  • Identify and develop skills and behaviours that will be beneficial in the sport industry workplace.
