This course provides students with the foundational skills and knowledge to plan, prepare and lead outdoor journeys that support personal, social, cultural and environmental learning in an outdoor education, outdoor recreation, nature-based tourism or adventure therapy context.

Course learning outcomes
- Identify theories and practices that underpin safe outdoor leadership
- Plan and implement an effective Outdoor Education field trip
- Demonstrate foundational skills and knowledge required for safe outdoor leadership and participation
- Demonstrate the ability to write a professional report that reflects on and evaluates the personal, social, cultural and environmental learning potential of a lightweight expedition
