Course overview

Analysing the important role sport plays in contemporary society, this course will provide students with an understanding of a range of conceptual frameworks, case study examples and topical debates that can be located in a social and cultural context. In doing so, it will enhance students’ knowledge and understanding of the problems and issues posed by the relationship between sport and society and the ways in which these are managed by clubs and governing organisations.
