Course overview
This course will enable students to apply specialised professional and ethical practice frameworks to shape strategies for practice, research, advocacy and systems change. Students will use skills as an ethical and reflexive practitioner to explore the relationship between self as a social worker, practice frameworks and social science knowledge. Students will develop and evaluate knowledge of recent developments in evidence-based practice and the re-creation of social work knowledges.
Course learning outcomes
- Create a personalised social work practice framework that incorporates social work knowledge, value and ethical perspectives and orientation.
- Examine the concept of professional judgement and ethical decision making in the practice context.
- Critically analyse the place of practice research and demonstrate the skills for researched informed practice.
- Apply specialised knowledge of social work knowledge of social work theory and practice skills as an ethical and reflexive practitioner.
