Course overview

This course will introduce students to influential sociological concepts, demonstrate how these concepts generate multiple perspectives about social phenomena and develop research skills in sociology which are needed to generate a sociological argument about these perspectives in written form. The course introduces students to the discipline of sociology. It explores the breadth of concepts and research approaches that sociology utilises. The course will particularly help students understand the various ways social differences and inequalities are expressed in society.
