Course overview

This course is dedicated to the development and writing of the Honours thesis. It supports students to draw on and apply key theoretical and methodological learnings offered in the first semester of study in the Honours program to dedicatedly and methodically produce the thesis. Students are provided with a supportive context in which to, week by week, present, receive critical feedback on, and produce draft versions of chapter work. Thereafter, students produce the final versions of their chapters, produce orienting materials, such as the abstract, the table of contents, and attend to matters of crucial detail, such as the technically correct production of the bibliography, the error-free production of the substantive text, setting out of images, and the workshopping and selection of a thesis title. The student's supervisor serves as the main orienting authority in this work, ensuring that all these elements manifest well within disciplinary conventions and expectations.
