Course overview
This course aims to provide an advanced exploration of the key theoretical perspectives that shape the field of Sociology. Skills are developed to understand society and the patterns of behaviour and structures that shape what people do. Throughout the course students explore cultural identities, social differences, and organisations.

- Understand theory and practice of key concepts in sociology
- Critically evaluate contemporary debates around the key concepts
- Demonstrate high level critical analysis and thinking skills
- Apply high quality written and verbal communications skills
- Explore the contribution that sociological theory can make to wider debates in the twenty-first century

If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
