Course overview
The aim of this course is to design, plan and present a project in nutrition and/or exercise using knowledge and skills developed across the program that can be implemented in a community or workplace setting. Reviewing available data, defining problem, setting objectives, project planning, report writing, critical reflection and, professional communication. This course will require students to integrate previously presented content in the degree, synthesise research literature, outline a project problem or question, plan data collection, describe how the project will be reported, describe how the conclusions will be communicated and how it will be evaluated.
Course learning outcomes
- Synthesise contemporary literature that supports the need and rationale for the proposed project in the field of nutrition and/or exercise.
- Apply an ethical framework to develop, plan and evaluate a research project in the community or workplace.
- Demonstrate advanced written and oral communication skills through presentation of the plan and its implementation.
- Demonstrate the ability to critically reflect on the development and quality of the project, impact and outcomes and identify learning(s) that has taken place.
