Course overview

Through practical applications, case studies, and hands-on tasks, students will develop the sociological skills to be a catalyst for positive social change. Students will develop skills in identifying and appraising quality sources of information and how to harness these to produce unique insights for pressing social issues and aspects of everyday life; including those that challenge dominant and 'common sense' understandings of the social world. A key skill developed in this course is the ability to communicate complex ideas and research in accessible ways to promote fuller understandings of social life and more equitable societies.
