Course overview
This course will introduce students to the core principles of scientific research and research environments, and will include interdisciplinary collaboration and group investigation.
Course learning outcomes
- An understanding of what science is and how it is both practiced and applied
- Research skills (including acquisition, analysis and synthesis of complex scientific ideas and information)
- Critical and logical thinking
- Principles of academic honesty and ethical behaviour
- Communication skills (emphasis will be on academic and reflective writing)
- Research management (emphasis will be on curation and visualisation of scientific data)
