Course overview
This is a core course in the Graduate Certificate in Research Skills and Master of Research programs providing an introduction to identifying and utilising information sources relevant for research; for those who have no significant prior learning of research methods and skills. It forms a foundation for further development of research skills through further coursework, and the conduct of supervised research. Students will learn how to locate, review and evaluate sources of information on prior research on a particular topic, to identify gaps in knowledge or understanding and to position a proposed research or creative work in the context of prior work.
