Course overview

The aim of this course is to develop knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions requiring physiotherapy input, and assessment and management skills for selected conditions across the lifespan. Theory, assessment and management techniques for selected musculoskeletal conditions across the lifespan, Principles and techniques related to infection control and informed consent, and application of principles to practice. Theory and safe and professional use of electrophysical agents.

Course learning outcomes

  • Discuss the principles of physiotherapy assessment used in musculoskeletal practice
  • Demonstrate safe and effective application of assessment and management skills used in musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and safe practice consistent with the application of electrophysical agents
  • Explain the pathobiological and biopsychosocial constructs of selected musculoskeletal conditions across the lifespan
