Course overview

The aim of this course is to develop your knowledge and skills in respect to core project management concepts and tools. You will be required to focus on the application of these project management concepts and tools in relation to interventions, programs and services that aim to improve health of populations. Through active engagement with a real-life scenario, you will enhance your ability to design and manage public health programs. This course will assist you with identifying a range of strategies that can be used to address public health challenges and enhance program outcomes.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the major components of project management and factors impacting on program success
  • Identify a range of strategies to address challenges and enhance program outcomes
  • Outline a public health program, including identifying key stakeholders, goals, resource requirements, time frames, risk assessment and potential evaluation plan
  • Demonstrate critical self-assessment regarding capacity to interact with other people and work as a team member to achieve a shared goal
