Course overview

The aim of this course is to articulate concepts of health and health systems. In this course, you will be introduced to health concepts, the role of health services, and the broader health systems. You will focus on the how the health system is structured and functions to promote and improve the health of individuals and society. By examining real-world case studies, you will develop an understanding of individual and population perspectives of health. This course prepares you with the foundational knowledge needed to become an effective health professional.

  • Discuss the relevance of different conceptual definitions of health and wellbeing for health policy and the health service system
