Course overview
The aim of this course is to develop and apply knowledge of the aetiology, diagnosis, classification, assessment, description and treatment of psychological disorders. Students will develop knowledge of the assessment, diagnosis (using current major diagnostic classification systems), aetiology (including psychological models), and treatment of psychological problems across the spectrum of severity and the adult age range.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate and apply knowledge of the aetiology, classification, and diagnosis of psychological disorders and identification of psychological problems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current interventions for psychological disorders.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current research methods in psychopathology.
