Course overview
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the application, scoring, and interpretation of standardised psychometrics in child and adolescent populations. Students will develop knowledge of the principles, methods, procedures, and critical evaluation of behavioural, psychometric, and clinical assessment of a range of psychological problems with a specific focus on practical application. Students will be provided training in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of standardised tests including but not limited to cognitive functioning, executive functioning, and personality across the child and adolescent age range.
Course learning outcomes
- Conduct interviews and assessments with parents, children, and relevant stakeholders.
- Administer and interpret observational, questionnaire, and norm-referenced assessment measures.
- Use multiple sources of information to reach a formulation of a child problem or disorder.
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, with a range of stakeholders.
