Course overview
This course will introduce skills essential for planning, designing and completing an individual research project relevant to the discipline of Psychology. It will cover topics such as research question development, project design, undertaking a literature review, data analysis, evidence synthesis, ethics, collaborative practice, open science, and the communication of research findings to a variety of audiences including peers, stakeholders and laypeople.

Course learning outcomes
- Critically engage with research skills and practices, including ethical practice, reflexivity, collaborative practice, transparency, and reproducibility, in the development and communication of psychological research
- Critically analyse literature in a specific field of psychology; and formulate and justify substantial research questions that are developed in accordance with theory and past findings
- Employ ethical research methodologies common within a domain of psychology
- Develop and implement a transparent and reproducible data analysis plan appropriate for answering research questions
- Report and interpret the results of analyses, and draw appropriate conclusions based on past and present research findings
- Clearly and accurately communicate research findings across a variety of forms
