Course overview
The aim of this course is to further develop students' knowledge of the concepts, theories, and methods for understanding social behaviour and the relationship between people and their social environment. Students will further develop their understanding of social and community research for understanding human psychology by exploring the basis of social behaviour in resources and social relationships, engaging in practical analysis of groups and communities including non-western communities and using analytical tools drawn from across the social sciences.
Course learning outcomes
- Analyse a range of social psychological theories and their applications
- Employ a critical, empirical approach to the analysis of social and community behaviour using qualitative methods
- Apply knowledge of Social and Community Psychology to the analysis of social behaviour
