Course overview

This course aims to assist students to understand the relevance of psychology to a range of careers both within and beyond the profession of psychology and to assist them to develop a professional identity as a person with expertise in human behaviour. Students will learn about key employment skills, how to identify relevant professional opportunities that apply psychological knowledge and skills and how to demonstrate and communicate their suitability for employment in a range of professional settings. By gaining this knowledge, students will enhance their ability to seek employment relevant to their studies. This course aligns with the program’s intent to produce graduates who are well-prepared to seek relevant employment and make a meaningful contribution within their community and/or chosen industry.

Course learning outcomes

  • Explain how psychological theories, principles and practices contribute to being a psychologically literate global citizen
