Course overview
This course will prepare students to deliver clinical exercise services in the area of musculoskeletal evaluation and rehabilitation as required for work, employment and activities of daily living, using the best available evidence. Contents include principles of rehabilitation, functional capacity evaluation, job task analysis, occupational performance, musculoskeletal assessment, design of exercise and conditioning programs to improve functional capacity, report writing in accordance with legislative and clinical frameworks.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of rehabilitation principles and clinical frameworks within musculoskeletal, occupational and disability settings, as they relate to an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
- Apply knowledge and skills in the evaluation of functional capacity for work, employment, ADL (Activities of Daily Living) and physical activity participation.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the prescription and delivery of exercise programming for musculoskeletal rehabilitation and functional conditioning.
