To develop students' knowledge of the dynamics and structures of the Australian political system and the consequences for society.
Course learning outcomes
- Analyse the Australian political system.
- Critically evaluate the processes and institutions of democratic Australian government.
- Evaluate theory and practice of liberal and representative democracy.
- Evaluate current political agendas in the context of key episodes in twentieth century Australian politics.
- Compare and contrast Australian government with other parliamentary democracies.
- Critically evaluate political discourse as it appears in different media contexts.
- Understand and analyse the needs of various social groups in the Australian Political system.

If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
