Course overview
The aim of this course explores the ways in which poverty is assessed, and poverty reduction is practiced. The course introduces students to concepts, international policies and conventions, as well as the practice of poverty reduction. It does this by examining key poverty indices, methods of poverty assessment and the wide range of programs that are implemented globally with the aim to reduce poverty and enhance well-being. The course engages students to think about solutions to global poverty and encourages skills development in the area of development program design and implementation.
