Course overview
The aim of this course is to apply theoretical and practical knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes in a range of pharmacy practice areas demonstrating a commitment to safe, competent and socially accountable practice and responsibility and accountability in simple and complex contexts. Legal and ethical practice, person-centred care, dispensing risk management, medication safety and quality use of medicines, extemporaneous dispensing, primary healthcare, prescription and therapeutic problems and communication, health promotion and cultural awareness.
Course learning outcomes
- Apply critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills in a range of practice areas to demonstrate well-developed professional judgement and competent practice.
- Apply legal, professional and ethical frameworks to a range of pharmacy practice scenarios
- Apply clinical and contemporary pharmacy knowledge and deliver person-centred care.
- Effectively and appropriately communicate and collaborate with a socially and culturally diverse range of people.
- Adopt the principles of life-long learning, including demonstration of reflective practice.
