Course overview
The aim of this course is to develop the student in the practice of clinical pharmacy and therapeutics integrating skills and knowledge to enable the pharmacist to make rational decisions regarding a patient's drug management. Pathophysiology and treatment of various disease state module: critical care, haematology, oncology, respiratory, renal, dermatology and gastroenterology. Application of evidence based medicine to practice identifying benefits and limitations to the population as a whole and the individual patient. Pharmacotherapy instruction including dosage calculations, adverse reactions, drug interactions, relevant pharmacokinetics, alternative therapies and monitoring parameters.
