Course overview
The aim of this course is to apply the principles of self-management, leadership and management commensurate with scope of practice and experience in simple and complex contexts including demonstrating the use of initiative and innovation to support professional practice. Leadership, self-leadership and efficacy, management, reflective practice, conflict resolution, interprofessional collaboration, cultural safety, communication and relationship management, emotional intelligence, accountability, responsibility, personal and professional development, goal setting.
Course learning outcomes
- Apply the principles of emotional intelligence when dealing with the public and health practitioners.
- Demonstrate responsible self-leadership to promote safe and socially accountable pharmacy practice.
- Evaluate leadership and management approaches in pharmacy practice.
- Apply problem analysis, critical thinking and decision making skills to solve problems.
- Create personal and professional development plans using workplace assessment tools and reflective practice.
