Course overview
The aim of this course is to apply advanced communication, technical and cognitive skills necessary to analyse, evaluate and integrate pharmacotherapeutic knowledge into the provision of competent, safe and effective pharmacy practice at a level expected of an entry level pharmacy practitioner. Analysis and evaluation of pharmacotherapeutic and professional practice knowledge in the provision of competent pharmacy practice.
Communication strategies for both health professional and non-health professional dialogue and appropriate to context. Critical analysis of, and reflection on, personal and professional competence.
Course learning outcomes
- Generate complex health care decisions that are clinically, ethically and scientifically sound and that have taken into account the patient's individual perspectives.
- Apply professional and clinical judgement and the advanced problem solving skills required for professional practice.
- Communicate effectively, appropriately and at a level expected of an entry level pharmacy practitioner, in language appropriate for both health professionals and non-health professionals.
- Reflect upon current personal outcomes with regards to professional standards and competence and identify areas of professional development required for registration as a practising pharmacist.
