Course overview
The aim of this course is to further develop the application of pharmacotherapeutics principles and knowledge. The syllabus includes a range of specialised areas of which pharmacists are expected to have an understanding but in which they would not necessarily be expected to work, without further training. Content will include: specialised infectious diseases and their public health implications; inherited diseases; transplant medicine; oncology; genotyping and medicine provision.
Course learning outcomes
- Understand specialised areas of pharmacotherapeutics.
- Understand the management of patients of increasing complexity, requiring the integration of knowledge developed in previous courses of the pharmacy program.
